Gnome-body loves me

I want to admit something. I love gnomes. Garden gnomes. They make me happy. I love their jolly little faces. Their jaunty red hats. Round cheeks and bellies. I want to be a gnome - live in the forest. Help the forest creatures. Have pet mouse that I can ride on long journeys....Now that I sound that I have ingested a few toadstools, I just want you to look....

Don't they make you grin too???

When I was a child, we had a book that I adored called Dutch Treat. The author also wrote this book that is a favourite around our house. Such fun!!!!

I love gnomes too! My great grandmother (who I never met) had the coolest book about them and I remember looking thru it at my grandma's house. A few years ago, I found decorative plate set with the same gnomes on them! So glad I'm not the only one to enjoy them so!

I have a garden gnome that looks just like the first photo you posted, only mine is holding a wooden rake. His name is "Gnorman" and I [heart] him very much! And if that makes me tacky or weird, so be it!

I can see the appeal of gnomes. I especially like the wee little Waldorf-y toy ones. I prefer my gnomes indoors to out.

searching flickr for gnomes turns up a wealth of material that should make you smile... something to remember next time you're feeling shitty. :)

I listened to this great radio show about a lady who has a Gnome that disappeared one day. A year later it returned with a journal. The Gnome had pictures of it self in England, France and several other places with a journal telling the lady where he had been! Then again the Gnome disappeared for 3 months and came back after a journey to Australia. I found that to be sooo funny and wonder if my Gnome that disappeared from my garden is on a vacation!?!?!?
