ahoy mateys

My girlfriends, Jill and Lynette, have thrown a "Pirate Ball" two years in a row now to benefit the kid's trust find. Last year, I was too bereft to leave the house to attend but this year, I made it. I am so amazed what these women can accomplish!! It was such a great time!
This year, I felt that maybe the help that we have received should be 'paid forward' in some sense. So, Jill split the profits in half at my request and is sending half to the trust fund....the other half will go to a very deserving cause....I am only hinting here so far as I want to be able to hand over the cheque personally on July 17th *BIG HINT*.
I want to thank both Jill and Lynette for their hard work and their creativity. They both work so hard and have been so kind and empathetic to us as we struggle through. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, chickies, I love you so very much!!

Love the costumes! Is that a real tattoo on your arm? What is it? I have been wanting to get one for awhile, just not sure what to get yet...

Desha - Yup, real tattoo. It's a mehndi style tattoo with an anchor signifying Jeff. If you look back to March 25th of this year, you can check it out closer.
Hawkfeather - Have I ever told you what a absolutely awesome rockin' sweetpea you are?! Cause you are.
Sari - You're right. It was an awesome night! So much fun!
Rach - Thanks so much, sweetie. Love ya!!

Jackie:

You look SO cute in this picture in your pirate costume. It's so awesome that your friends did this for you and yours....and for other people too. There are such amazing and wonderful people in our midst, aren't there? Your Father's Day blog touched my heart. I never knew my dad, but the dad that raised me is in the hospital and I can't imagine what my life would have been like without my "Daddy"....or what my life would be like without him in it now. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and Briar and Liv this day after Father's Day. Keep on hanging in there Jackie....you are an amazing and strong woman for your beautiful children and you are doing an incredible job all by yourself. I'm just so sorry you have to go it alone. Hugs to you!
