My sister, Kirsten, was lending an ear the other day when I was having a hard time. I was upset about the whole lack of hope and happiness thing. I didn't know why I should try anymore...with anything. So I said to her, "Why? Why bother?"
She said, "I guess it comes down to 'Why not?' We're here anyhow. Why not make the best of it?"
The next day, I was driving past the cemetary that handled Jeff's remains. Instead of it's usual messages of "Get your burial plot before the new rate increase" or "Preplan your funeral arrangements. Your family will thank you." It said this:
I know it's a coincidence...but it tripped me out.

I believe that not everything can be a coincidence.
This opens up a whole different way of thinking, doesn't it?
Keeping you in my thoughts
maybe it wasn't a coincidence.
rather than the WWJD? (What would Jesus do?) question that became pop culture a few years ago, maybe breathe a little deeper and start asking yourself, WWJD? (What would JEFF do?).
Still thinking of you and wishing you peace --

Wow that is a trippy coincidence.
I have been following your Blog for awhile and just wanted to say I am pulling for you.

Freakin' goosebumps! Xxx
There is magic in the world, Jackie! Don't you just love those synchronistic events that make you go....hmmmmmmm? There are messages for us everywhere if we we remain open to them. Amazing, thanks for sharing.

i don't think it was a coincidence. not always, but sometimes the universe really does offer some insights, confirmations or straight-up answers to questions we may be having. we just need to be open to see them that way...
you are still in my thoughts. wishing you strength.
Maybe the universe is trying to tell us all something. My grandmother use to say you can be happy or you can be sad..take your pick. You can be sad all day and feel bad, or you can pick yourself up and try and have a good day...which one you do decides how your going to spend your day. She's been gone quiet a few yrs now...but I bet she's giving out advice in heaven..*hugs*
Sooooo, if God IS trying to give you a message to let you know He's there (He is), what could He do that you would recognize as NOT a coincidence? He is trying to comfort you a million different ways everyday. Cool that it was actually a sign on the highway for you! Not all of us get one that good! :) God is there. He knows you. He loves you more than you can understand or imagine! Even (and especially) now. Seriously. Come find me on my blog if you want to talk about any of that God stuff, (just leave me a comment). I don't have anywhere close to all the answers, but I do have an unshakable hope that I would love to share with you. If not, know that I pray for you everyday.
I read your blog faithfully and think of you often. You have inspired me to be more natural and more green - I beleive everything happens for a reason - cheers for you having good days! Life celebrates you!
Was it a good "trip me out" or a bad one? I had serendipitous (?!?) and/or well- or bad-timed occurrences like that shortly after Charley died too. I couldn't tell you what they were, but I do remember seeing a few things and trying to make more portent out of them than I would have if he hadn't died. The coincidences and timing for stuff like that wigged me out too.
Sadly, or maybe strangely or ironically, I got used to them. Somehow that stuff started seeming normal to me, which was equally as mind-blowing.
Hang in there, Jackie. I remember the 5-month timeframe (and the 6-month) being really tough for me after Charley died. They all suck, but I remember it being a particularly tough time.
Sending hugs,
Candice
maybe it's not a coincidence! i take these sort of things as signs and they ultimately make me a feel little bit better :)
